- Contribute your time, energy, and skills in meaningful ways
- Learn new skills and gain experience in some roles
Types of Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways to get involved, depending on your interests, availability, and location.
Build Site Volunteers
Support home construction under the guidance of staff, site leaders, and skilled trades. Some roles involve general support; others may require previous experience.

Event and Fundraising Volunteers
Support events, campaigns, and community outreach throughout the year, including setup, registration, and general event assistance.

ReStore Volunteers
Help with merchandising, customer service, receiving donations, warehouse support, and day-to-day store operations.

Group and Corporate Volunteering
Join us for a Habitat Team Day! This one-of-a-kind engagement opportunity offers exclusive benefits while providing your organization the chance to build your team, your brand and your community.
*Participation is paired with a contribution to Habitat NB reflective of this opportunity
Do I Need Experience?
No previous construction experience is required for most roles. Training, guidance, and supervision are provided, and safety is always a priority. If a role requires experience, we will let you know in advance. The most important thing is a willingness to help.

What to Expect When Volunteering
We want volunteers to feel prepared and comfortable. Depending on the opportunity, volunteers can expect:
Flexible involvement
Some opportunities are one-time, while others may be ongoing or scheduled regularly.
Clear instructions and support
Habitat staff and team leads will explain the task, provide guidance, and help make sure volunteers know what to do.
A safe, respectful environment
Safety matters, and Habitat is committed to creating a positive volunteer experience for everyone.
Practical clothing and closed-toe footwear
For build sites and many ReStore roles, volunteers should wear comfortable clothing suitable for the activity and bring closed-toe shoes. Additional details will be shared in advance when needed.
What opportunities are available
Volunteer opportunities are available in different communities across New Brunswick and may vary depending on current projects, ReStore needs, events, and local capacity.
You may be able to volunteer through:
